Are you wondering what's the big day? It's actually school open day + our presentation day which we had been prepare for weeks.
What's presentation? It's part of our assignment for Human Nutrition subject (you should know what's my profession!!). Our lecturer gave us a topic earlier, asked us to search for info and design our own education tools to educate public on open day. My group topic is Nutrition and Alzheimer's. Today, we are nutritionist-to-be, we educate public. The feeling is great!

So, let me explain Nutrition & Alzheimer's. Do you know what is Alzheimer's? In chinese, it's 老人痴呆症. It's one of the dementia which the patient has damage in brain. For now, Scientists couldn't tell what's the cause that leads to Alzheimer's and there is no cure for now. One of the explanation given is plaque and tangles grow abnormally in human brain, affect nerve cells in human brain and break down the brain.
What cause Alzheimer's? There are 3 risk factors which you couldn't control and unchangeable. There are your age, family history and genetics. And another 3 factors which you can affluent, head injury, heart-head connection and healthy aging.
How to prevent Alzheimer's? There are 3 main things you should always follow, healthy and balance diet, be physical active and manage your stress. This rules apply for everyone to live healthy.

- Balance and adequate diet (refer to food guide pyramid)
- choose low-fat/low cholesterol diet
- low calories diet
- eat more veges and fruits (but never over-eating)
- avoid red meat
- less salt, less sugar, less oil
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday
- exercise for at least 30 minutes most day a week (including doing houseworks)
- well-manage your stress
