Yesterday I registered myself for blood donation organized by CHCKL. I had been donating my blood for 9 times since I was 18, and I did not encountered any problem before or during or after blood donation.
This was the very first time I was rejected! Why? The nurse told me my hemoglobin count is too low for blood donation.
Brief explanation of HEMOGLOBIN. Hemoglobin is the protein molecule in red blood cell that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues to the lungs. Normal hemoglobin count for women is range from 12-15 gm/dl. My hemoglobin count was only 9.9 gm/dl. How could it be possible?
I am suffering from anemia! That could be the one reason why I am always feel tired lately, and could not sleep well at night. Really need to look into my body condition now...
